Government denies the news that the Tata group wins bid for Air India !

The Central Government has been trying to sell off Air India, the debt-ridden Indian government-owned airline, for years. Tata group has shown interest on acquiring it.
The government intensified the process to sell Air India after Covid situation, and has announced the last date to submit the auction details as September 15. Tata group has submitted the details to acquire Air India.
In this situation, media outlets claim that the government has approved the financial bids of the Tata group to acquire Air India. However, the government has denied the claim.

Secretary, DIPAM clarified on Twitter, “Media reports indicating approval of financial bids by Government of India in the AI disinvestment case are incorrect. Media will be informed of the Government decision as and when it us taken”.
