The BJP leader, right-wing organizations and the dominant castes rallied in support of the Hathras accused!
Four people have been arrested in connection with the alleged death of a Dalit girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a dominant caste in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras area.
The situation has been tense since the body of the Hathras woman was cremated by the police at midnight. Struggles for justice for the victim’s family and support across the country have been reported. Similarly, protests and rallies are taking place in support of the 4 accused in the Hathras incident.
According to The Quint website, local BJP leader and members of right-wing organizations including the RSS, Bajrang Dal, Gurney Sena, Rashtriya Savarna Sangathan and Chhatriya Mahasabha were among those who rallied in support of the Thakur community accused in the Hathras massacre.
On October 4, hundreds of people rallied in support of the perpetrators at a rally in front of the house of former BJP MLA Rajveer Singh Behelwan, 9 km from the victim’s house. However, Rajveer Singh’s son denied the allegations, saying that people from all community had come to the meeting, the Hindustan Times reported.
Hundreds of people, including the family of the accused, were present at the meeting at the former BJP MLA’s house. All four accused need justice. I welcome the decision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to order a CBI inquiry. The truth will come out now, ” said Rajveer Singh Phelwan in support of the offenders.
They have started the struggle after the panchayat was held in Bakna village, 5 km away from the victim’s village. The panchayat has said that some political parties are using the incident for their own political gain. News18 reported that most of those present at the panchayat were in favour of the accused and demanded an impartial inquiry into the case.
The victim’s family is said to be carrying out protests demanding the release of the accused from more than 20 villages around the area where they live.
