Following this, many BJP members shared the post of Annamalai on Twitter. Meanwhile, the social media users have commented that a rivalry has started between the picture shared on MK Stalin’s Twitter page and the picture posted by Annamalai on which image would get more likes.

Many Tamil characters are featured in the image shared by Annamalai and the BJP. It also features the Sanskrit letter ‘sa’ (ஸ).

The Sanskrit character featured in the image which the BJP shares as ‘Tamil Thai’, has received criticism, and has gone viral on social media.

In this regard, Tamil Nadu Minister for Department of Industries, Thangam Thennarasu posted, “In the guise of praising Tamizhanangu, you have shown your true face by hiding the ‘ Sa ’ in your folded hands while merging the ‘ Sa ’ with other Tamil letters. This is what Valluvar also has mentioned”.

It has become a matter of controversy that the Sanskrit character along with the Tamil characters was featured in the ‘Tamil Thai’ image, which was posted as a competition on behalf of the Tamil Nadu BJP and Annamalai. This has been protested by many on social networking sites, including Twitter.
