DMK promises not for fake love, but for inter-caste marriages!

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s election promise is spreading on social media that the 259th promise of Rs 60,000 and 1 pound gold coin for the inter-caste marriages couples!

If Adithravidar man marries a woman of any caste, including Mudaliar, Brahmin, Naidu, Vanniyar, Yadav, Nadar, Agamudaiyar, Rettyar, Pillai, Kallar, Maravar, Chettiar, Kongu Vellalar, Muthariyar – Rs. 60,000 cash and 1 pound gold coin. As stated in the 259th promise of the DMK election manifesto. In the name of ‘I support inter-caste marriages’, they have made a bold election promise to stage a dramatic love with VCK party.
In the 259th promise of the DMK election manifesto, “The government will issue renewal and implementation of the Anjugam Ammaiyar Memorial Mixed Marriage Funding Scheme. If one of the inter-caste marriages is of Adithravidar or hill tribe, if he marries a person of another race, the financial assistance will be 60 thousand rupees and 8 grams of gold for Tali.
.
It is nothing new to give incentives to those who marry from religion to caste and from caste to caste. In Kerala mixed marriage couples, as husband or wife, can get financial assistance of Rs 75,000 while they are in SC or ST category.
.
If the bride and groom in the public sector have an income of less than Rs 1 lakh per annum, Rs 30,000 will be given as financial assistance. Also, Kerala Social Justice Minister Shylaja had announced that temporary accommodation would be provided for mixed marriage couples.
.
It can be seen that the declared funding for inter-caste marriages is being misrepresented as fake love and the caste name is being misrepresented as promoting fake love in the name of inter-caste marriage. Also, the scheme states that one of the brides (husband or wife) must be an Adithravidar or a scheduled tribe.
