“Jai Bhim” achieved its goal: Irai Anbu has ordered for district wise field research !

Jai Bhim movie starring actor Surya directed by Gnanavel is based on true incidents and it talks about the life of people from Irular community, legal battle for the injustice happened to them because of the people in power. The movie gained appreciation all over.

Recently, under the special standardization scheme of Tamil Nadu CM, after the field research in the areas inhabited by tribes and Narikuravars in Poonjeri, Chengalpattu, Government welfare assistance including ration card, voter’s ID and community certificate were provided. CM also has provided order for development project work.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Irai Anbu has sent letters to District Collectors asking them to undergo field research to provide welfare assistance to Narikuravar, tribes and other marginalized people.

The letter from Irai Anbu says, “Infrastructure required, plans to be implemented department wise are to be listed after visiting each village/area where Narikuravar, tribes and other marginalized people reside, in person.

To list the help needed by each family from the government, like family ration card, community certificate, pension, CM’s medical insurance plan.

Needs assessment format is attached along with it. Requirements of individuals and village/area should be exhaustively included in the Need assessment list. If any other requirements exist apart from the ones mentioned in the format it can be filled in the others column. Liaison officer should be appointed to accomplish this job”.

Iyan Karthikeyan, Editor, Youturn, directed a documentary named “Adayalam” which talks about struggles of Irulars in Thiruvannamalai, welfare schemes undertaken for livelihood of tribes after their recovery.

It is mandatory to implement welfare assistance plans by the government to get rid of the struggles of marginalized people. Jai Bhim movie and other such videos on social media have created awareness on the struggles of the marginalised people.

Social Activists have commented that the Tamil Nadu CM should not stop after providing the welfare assistance planned for Narikuravar and tribes. The government’s initiative on district wise field research to improve their lives has gained appreciation.
