Who appointed Balagurusamy in the Madurai Kamarajar University search committee ?
A search committee to appoint new vice-chancellor for Madurai Kamarajar University was formed. Tamil Nadu government has nominated M.Rajendran, P.Maruthamuthu as search committee members. Anna University Former VC Balagurusamy was appointed as the committee’s convenor.
Anna University Former VC Balagurusamy has supported the NEET exam, National Education Policy and Navodhya schools. The DMK party that opposes these policies when it was the opposition party has now appointed the one that supported the policies as a convenor for the search committee. This has created outrage on social media.
The Tamil Nadu government has nominated members of the search committee to appoint new Vice-Chancellor for Madurai Kamarajar University. But Balagurusamy is appointed as the convenor by Governor R.N.Ravi, and not nominated by the Tamil Nadu government.

The committee under Balagurusamy receives applications for eligible professors, shortlist three profiles and will forward them to the Governor. In the Universities including Anna University where the governor is the Chancellor, the search committee convenor is chosen by order of the Governor. Similarly, Balagurusamy is appointed as per his nomination.
