4000 false Covid-19 reports! TN gov. cancelled the permission for Medall laboratory.
The Directorate General of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (DPH&PM) yesterday revoked a Medal Private Laboratory’s permission for RT-PCR testing, which was found to have been added the other state’s Covid-19 positive samples into the Tamil Nadu State Account.
When the ICMR website was examined for the records recorded by Covid-19, “The results of the RT PCR samples for Covid-19 obtained from the city of Kolkata were uploaded as a sample obtained from a Kallakurichi. On May 19 and 20, ICMR reported that nearly 4,000 samples had been diagnosed with corona infection, which was no detailed information. In addition, the number of cases registered daily is incomplete, ”the Public Health Administration said in a statement.
Uploading of positive results of samples obtained from outside Tamil Nadu is said to be the reason for the increase in the number of corona infections in Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, this misrepresentation of data will lead to a miscalculation of resources, including vaccines, provided by the Government of India to Tamil Nadu. Therefore, it would be an impediment to the steps taken by the Central and State Governments in controlling the Covid epidemic.
False test results given by Medal Laboratory will force more patients to go to hospitals, which will lead hospitals to earn more through medical bills. It is therefore suspected that there is a mutual understanding between the laboratory and the private hospitals. Uploading negative results can lead to unnecessary confusion, panic, anxiety and stress among the general public. This can cause great frustration for people who have had bad results.
The Department of Public Health alleges that it has been difficult to diagnose those patients because it did not provide full details regarding patients who came in with corona positive.
Based on this, the permit is immediately revoked until the next order for RT-PCR testing comes to the laboratory. Further, the Managing Director of Medal Laboratory has directed the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, DS Selvavinayagam to submit a detailed explanation within 3 days.
In this case, the Medall laboratory explained that its RT-PCR testing process was accurate and that there was no problem with the testing process, its quality or accuracy. So the problem is a technical problem while uploading data to the ICMR server. We apologize for this error. The resulting technical encryption error is being fixed. We extend our cooperation to the team sent by the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, ”it said in a statement.
It has come as a shock and suspicion that Private Lab has added other states’ corona positive results in the name of Tamilnadu make a warning that the corona impact in Tamil Nadu may increase in a few weeks and whether the general lockdown will be extended.
