A 24-second video of a boy being assaulted while going inside a Hindu temple (mandir) to drink water has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the boy says his name is Asif and his father’s name is Habib when someone asks him what his name is and what his father’s name is. Then he attacked that boy who comes to drink water when asked what he is doing inside the temple.
Ribat Javed, a former editor of the BBC and founder of JanatakariPorter, shared a video of the boy being assaulted and posted that Ghaziabad police should arrest the man who allegedly drank water at the temple.
Ghaziabad police said they had taken immediate action over the video and had arrested the boy and registered an FIR.
Shirangi Nandan Yadav and his son Aswani Kumar Yadav from Bihar have been identified as the people who took the video of the boy being beaten, police said. The video of the boy being attacked inside the temple has been shared across India and condemned.
