Ramanathapuram Arun Prakash murder incident | Police reports that there is no religious problem!
Arun Prakash, 23, and Yogeswaran, 20, of Kallar Street, Ramanathapuram, were standing at the junction of Kallar Street when they were surrounded by a mob of more than 10 armed men in a motor vehicle. The mob chased the two men as they tried to escape, cutting them with scythes and stabbing them with knives.
The injured were rushed to the Ramanathapuram Government Hospital. However, Arun Prakash succumbed to his injuries. Yogeswaran is said to have been admitted to a private hospital after receiving treatment there. Relatives refused to receive Arun’s body after the autopsy was completed and protested, urging the police to take immediate action.

The Ramanathapuram police have explained that the murder of Arun Prakash after it started spreading on social media as the murder carried out by Islamic fundamentalist gang.
The murder of Arun Prakash on 31.08.2020 in Vasantham town in Ramanathapuram district was an incident of personal animosity between two groups. Some people try to paint a religious picture in it. The perpetrators of the incident include people of various religions. There is no religious problem in this case. Do not trust gossipers. This is a murder case that took place due to purely personal animosity. The police are searching for the culprits by setting up 3 special forces, ”the Ramanathapuram police said on its social media pages.
According to The Hindu, “Police have arrested Riyaz, Kamatchi, Suresh and Shahul Amid in connection with the murder of Arun Prakash and are looking for Sheikh Abdul Rahman and Saravanan.”
District SP Varun Kumar said, “Arun Prakash’s murder was not due to religion but due to personal animosity.”
A case has been registered against more than 10 people including Left Sheikh, Sadham, Imran Khan, Azar, Saravanan, Vetri and Kamatchi in the Arun Prakash murder case. Police have asked to set up 3 special forces to search for the culprits and not to spread religious rumours.
