Explanation
A video is being shared on social media by many users that Uttar Pradesh Police had arrested the person who pinned down the cow forcefully and beat him up.
Supporters of Yogi Adityanath and the BJP share this video and rejoice that justice has been served. Similar claims can be seen here, here, here and here.
What’s the truth?
We searched for the origins of the video in which the Police beat up a person and found out that the video is from Mathela village under Chandauli Police jurisdiction.
This video was shot in May 2021 when three minors were caught for allegedly stealing mobile phones in a local shop and were beaten up inhumanely by the local police. This has been covered in some Hindi news outlets which can be seen here and here.
Following this, the officers involved in beating up of the minors were suspended and the Chandauli Police has posted a statement regarding this issue.

This video was already used in March 2022 for a different claim. This video was shared virally in March 2022 by many BJP and Yogi Adityanath supporters claiming that a man who raised Pro-Pakistan slogan is caught by the Police and ‘dealt’ accordingly.

Chandauli Police had already clarified about this in March 2022 that this video was 1 year old then and this video is being misused by some to instigate communal tenstions.

Even the videos of a man pinning down a cow and the purported ‘UP Police’ action were shared in social media as early as March 2022. So that is not a recent rumor either.
This video was posted on Facebook and Instagram.

Now, the same video had been used to share that the man who pinned down a cow in a viral video had been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police and beaten up. However, this is not true as the incident took place in Mathela over an alleged phone theft. We were not able to confirm the origin of the video in which a man is pinning down a cow.
Conclusion
Two unrelated videos are shared in social media with a claim that the person who pinned down a cow had been taken ‘care’ by the UP Police. The video of a person getting beaten up is more than a year old, and it is form Mathela village where 3 minors were arrested for allegedly stealing mobile phones in a shop. The claim is fake as these are unrelated videos.
