The four-day right-wing political festival was organised by the Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni in Italy. The Party was attended by billionaire Elon Musk, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and many other prominent leaders.

Meanwhile, The Times of India reported that Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni said ‘Islamic culture and Values and the rights of European civilization have a problem of compatibility’ in a party organised in Rome on 16, December 2023.

What is the truth?

We ran a reverse image search using the keyframes of the viral video and found that the original was posted on 9, February 2018 on the ala news YouTube channel.  In this video titled “Meloni: Salvini is right, Islam is incompatible with our culture”, we can see Georgia Meloni giving a byte and referring to Salvini’s statement and saying, “Islam is incompatible with the constitution? Ask him for clarification, but I believe that Islam certainly presents incompatibility with our values and our civilization.”

In this video, Meloni referred to and agreed with the previous statement by Matteo Salvini. Similar news was also reported by the Italian daily newspaper il Fatto Quotidiano. The video dates back to 2018 before Meloni was elected as a Prime Minister. This 5-year-old video is misreported as recent by multiple media channels.
