Explanation

A video spanning 21 seconds features a few women standing inside a train carriage. A physical altercation breaks out between a woman wearing green clothing and a woman dressed in black. The woman in the black outfit attacks the other woman with an empty water bottle. Similarly, we notice the other woman wearing the green dress take out the pram that is empty next to her and discard it from the train. The video cuts off there, but we see the woman in black getting off the train at the platform to inspect her empty stroller.

What’s the truth?

We began our investigation by using pertinent keywords such as “Turkish woman push Pakistani woman” and “Turkish woman fight on a train.” We also performed a basic Google reverse image search using the video’s viral keyframes. This directed us to an Alwababa.com story.

The article was published on May 21, 2024, with the caption, “Fight inside Istanbul metro, Turkish women threw Syrian outside.” This piece also carried the screengrabs of the viral video.

According to the article, “ A video has circulated on social media showing Turkish women attacking and throwing a woman, who is said to hold the Syrian nationality, outside a metro in Istanbul.”

The article went on to add that, in the video, a woman in the central Turkish city of Eskişehir started pushing the Syrian woman outside the subway platform. Then, in front of her kids, she grabbed the infant stroller and hurled it outside.

Moreover, “according to a Turkish journalist, Ibrahim Haskologlu, the Syrian woman allegedly “insulted” the Turkish passengers in offensive terms, telling them, “You have no honor” sparking anger in the metro and leading to a fight.”

The data above explains and confirms that the Turkish woman was fighting with a Syrian woman, not a Pakistani woman.

Conclusion:
We therefore conclude that the widely circulated rumor that a Turkish woman pushed and forced a Pakistani woman off the train is false. Also, the baby carriage was empty, and the Turkish woman had gotten into a fight with a Syrian woman.
