Samajwadi Party Leader Mulayam Singh Yadav’s 83rd birthday was celebrated in grand style in the party’s headquarters in Lucknow on November 22, 2021. It was all over the news with Live telecasts on some media channels.
But when searching for the viral photo, it was not found in the birthday celebration photo gallery. Instead, Akhilesh Yadav was seen with his father Mulayam Singh Yadav during the celebrations.
When searching the image with google lens, we found two links with the viral image.
ANI posted the viral picture as one of the pictures and tweeted that SP workers performed ‘havan’ (a purification ritual) and cut a cake as a part of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s birthday celebrations at the party office in Lucknow.

The other link resulted on google lens is of Hindustan Times which also mentions above ANI’s tweet.
This claim is found to be viral in 2021 and is being spread again now.
Conclusion
The claim that Akhilesh Yadav performed last rites to his father who is alive is found to be fake. He did not perform ‘shradh’ to his father.
Moreover, the person in the photo is not Akhilesh Yadav but a party worker and he has performed ‘havan’ as a part of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s birthday celebrations.
