Explanation

Punjab’s “Delhi Chalo” march, which gathers thousands of farmers, will take place once more with the demand that the MSP be expanded to include all crops. The farmers who are protesting at the border between Punjab and Haryana at Shambhu declared on Tuesday that they would continue their agitation after the fourth round of talks with the central government failed.

In the meantime, a tonne of pictures and videos that connect it to the farmer’s protest are all over the internet. In this instance, a 1-minute, 19-second video depicts a group of individuals debating the cost of the tractor while appearing to quarrel and engage in physical altercations. This post contains a claim that these farmers are unable to determine tractor prices between 35,000 and 50,000 as of month’s end and instead attend farmer’s protests. What’s the truth?

When we started analyzing the viral video it led us to a YouTube video captioned as Innocent Punjabi || Funny tractor sale deal !.”

We took that as a cue and searched further and located the same video uploaded on 28 January 2024 in the form of YouTube shorts. The video was posted with an infographic written as “Tell me what the deal is.” This confirms that the video is old.

All of this information makes it clear that the viral video is outdated and that the YouTube video, which was posted much earlier than the current dates of the farmer’s protest, describes itself as a “funny tractor deal.”

Conclusion:

We thus conclude that the widely shared video is false and does not represent the farmers’ ability to decide on the price of the tractor while they are taking part in the protest. The film is outdated and has nothing to do with the ongoing farmer’s demonstration.
