An old video of police beating women is falsely peddled as happened in Mewat now

In the 37-second viral video, we can able to see some policemen with their vehicles walking with sticks in their hands. While watching the video, one lady police is seen holding a woman’s hand and walking along with her to their vehicle. Then she pushes her to sit inside the police jeep. Suddenly, we see another policeman running with his lathi toward the vehicle and beating the woman. Meanwhile, two other policewomen come with another lady and make her sit with the previous woman in the jeep. An officer from nowhere appears with the lathi and thrashes the woman nicely. In this viral clip, all the officers were seen wearing the mask. This video seems to be taken in a street and there were many police vehicles standing in a row.

This video is shared by many users questioning who gave the power to these policemen to beat the woman like this. The above sensational video shared by many people can be seen here and here. They even went on to add, when will there be strict laws against this rude behaviour of the policemen? Some users claim that this incident happened in Nuh, Mewat. Come, let’s see how much truth the story holds.
What’s the truth?
When we started our research using the relevant keywords, we came upon this video which is uploaded in 2020 during the Corona lockdown period in the month of April. While watching the video, we found out that it is from Uttawar, Palwal district which is located in Haryana.
One thing we noted in the whole video is every single person is wearing a mask and its uploaded date is April 24, 2020. So, this confirms, that it is definitely during the lockdown time when we had strict actions and precautions for the safety of the public. Every person was supposed to wear a mask while they are stepping out in the street. Though we could not ascertain the exact issue related to the video, we could confirm that this video is old and is being circulated with false claims.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the above video has no connection to the ongoing violence in the Nuh, Mewat. The viral video is at least 3 years old.
