The selection of new chief ministers by the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh took everyone by surprise. Mohan Yadav, Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Vishnu Deo Sai were chosen by the party instead of leading candidates Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, and Raman Singh. All three of them have held the position of chief minister before; Raje led Rajasthan twice, while Shivraj and Raman Singh each held the position for three terms.

In the middle of all of this, there’s a video on social media of Vasundhara Raje inadvertently slipping and falling to the ground. Users assert that on December 12, as she was leaving the party’s legislative meeting with a heavy heart, the incident occurred.

What’s the truth?

With the help of some pertinent keywords, we conducted a quick Google search and found a YouTube video about Vasundra Raje’s July 8, 2017, falling incident, with the caption, “Vasundhara Raje fell while walking.” According to the report, she also suffered minor injuries when she fell while tangled in her saree.

Then we advanced our search and found a video report of Raje falling to the ground on July 9, 2017, by the YouTube channel VTV Gujarati News and Beyond. The video was titled “CM Vasundhara Raje Slipped and Fall Down.”

As we continued to search, we came across an article titled “CM Vasundhara Raje reached Dholpur to celebrate Diwali but fell on her face on the helipad” that was posted on “” on October 29, 2016.

According to the report, she also suffered minor injuries when she fell while tangled in her saree.

As all of the aforementioned information confirms, the shared viral video is outdated and unrelated to the recent announcement of the new chief minister of Rajasthan.

We thus conclude that the widely circulated video, which purports to show Vasundhara Raje falling on her way to the legislative party meeting on December 12, is untrue. In actuality, the widely shared viral video is outdated and spreads false information.
