What is the Truth?
We ran a keyword search about whether Bhavani Devi had already qualified for the Paris Olympics in 2024, but we didn’t find anything related to this.
Furthermore, we searched more and found that the official Olympics website, last updated on January 31, 2024, showed a list of 39 qualified athletes, excluding Bhavani Devi’s name.
Why this confusion?
We found that Olympic Khel, India’s official Olympic account, acknowledged Bhavani Devi as the first Indian fencer to qualify for the Olympics in a video shared. This caused confusion regarding Devi’s qualification for the Paris Olympics 2024 games. Subsequently, the account deleted the post and reposted it as a nostalgia post with the caption ” ! At Tokyo 2020, Bhavani Devi became the first Indian fencer to qualify for the Olympics.”

So according to the above proofs, it’s clear that Bhavani Devi is not qualified yet for the Paris Olympics 2024.
