A photo of a 28-year-old man and an 8-year-old couple getting married in a wedding vehicle in Bihar, India, has gone viral on social media.
While doing a reverse image search of the photo which went viral image, that news was shared even in many leading news outlets in India, as “an 8-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man got married”.
However, on further search, it was reported that the woman in the photo of the girl who went viral featured on the website Dainik bhaskar. They had posted a video explaining along with her husband about the misinformation being spread about her.
It has been revealed that the woman’s name is Thanu Kumari and that she was born on January 1, 2002 and asked them not to spread false information. The video of Tanu Kumari speaking has been posted on the Twitter page of Bihar News 18 on May 28.
Mooknayak founder Meena Kotwal contacted them and tweeted explaining about themself with photos.

In our search, the photo circulating that an 8-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man were married in Bihar was incorrect. It is understandable that the woman in it is not 8 years old but 19 years old and the hoax has gone to the extent of being investigated and clarified by the government through social websites and media.
