It’s Very Shocking In Kerala’s Kochi, a burqa-clad Muslim youth entered the ladies’ washroom and then secretly started making videos of women. As soon as the mall security staff caught sight of him, there was an uproar. After this, the accused Muslim was handed over to the police.
A photograph of a burqa-clad youth claiming to be a Muslim man who recorded a video from a women’s washroom in Kochi, Kerala, has gone viral on social media. It was also seen that many right-wingers including Saravana Prasad are spreading this photo.
What is the truth?
A simple Google reverse image search of the viral photo confirmed that the accused person was not a Muslim youth.
In an article published by India Today media on August 17, “Kochi police arrested a 23-year-old youth who recorded a video from a women’s toilet wearing a burqa in Kochi.
The incident took place on Tuesday evening at a popular mall. The accused, identified as Abhimanyu, is a robotics engineering graduate working in Kochi. He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. A case has been registered against him under IPC Sections 354(C) (voyeurism), 419 (impersonation) and Section 66E of the IT Act.”
Also, the photo circulating on social media matches the keyframes of the video posted by News 18 Virals on its page.
Meanwhile in the description of the video its mentioned as “A surprising incident has come to light from a popular Lulu Mall in Kerala. A man wearing a burqa entered the women’s washroom at Lulu Mall. In the toilet, the person took out the mobile and turned on the video recording. After that hid the mobile inside the cardboard box. The young man made a small hole inside the cardboard and pasted it on the door. The accused IT professional has been arrested and his mobile has been seized.”
Abhimanyu wearing a burqa and going into the women’s toilet is being misrepresented by some on social media as a Muslim youth to incite communal clashes.
