Three generations of the Gandhi family have consistently disrespected Karnataka and its leaders: Indira humiliated Nijalingappa, Rajiv demeaned Veerendra Patil, and now Sonia-Rahul belittle Mallikarjun Kharge. This cycle of unrelenting humiliation will end on 10th May.

Explanation
Both Congress and BJP are campaigning for the Karnataka assembly elections. Meanwhile, severe criticisms are being made between the two parties.
In this case, the Karnataka BJP posted an 18-second video on its Twitter page claiming that Sonia Gandhi insulted Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge, who was on the stage for campaigning in Karnataka. The video was also posted on Twitter by Kanchan Gupta, Senior Advisor, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Some of the other posts with such a claim can be seen here and here.

What is the truth?
On May 6, 2023, the video of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi addressing a rally held by the Congress in Hubli, Karnataka, is uploaded on the official YouTube channel of the Indian National Congress Party.
At the 50th second in the video, once everyone has arrived on the stage, Kharge and Sonia Gandhi are seen sitting after discussing the seat allocations.
Next at 22.34 minutes, when Sonia Gandhi finished her speech and came back to occupy her seat, everyone stood up and applauded and this footage is currently being circulated on social media.
In the complete video, after Sonia Gandhi finishes her speech and takes her seat, Mallikarjun Kharge, standing nearby, walks to deliver his speech next. But in the viral video, that part has been clipped and is being falsely spread that he is standing because Sonia Gandhi did not ask him to sit on the chair.
Earlier it was claimed that Rahul Gandhi wiped his nose on Mallikarjun Kharge’s coat. YouTurn fact-checked and published an article on the same.

Conclusion
In our search, the video circulating with the claim that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is standing because Sonia Gandhi did not ask him to sit during the Karnataka election campaign is false.
In the complete video of the campaign, after Sonia Gandhi finishes her speech and takes her seat, Mallikarjun Kharge, who is standing nearby, walks in to deliver his speech next. It can be seen that they have deleted the scene of him walking and only the part before it is being spread wrongly.
