Had to write core group meeting, but mistakenly wrote the right thing ‘chor group meeting’. (Original text in Hindi: लिखना था (should have written) core group meeting गलती से कभी कभी सही लिख गया( sometimes mistakes do turn out to be truth) chor group meeting)
An image of Congress party leaders sittingin a meeting with the poster is being shared on social media along with a claim that the picture shows the party mistakenly wrote ‘Chor Group Meeting’ (thief group meeting) instead of ‘Core Group Meeting’.

This is an old picture of the Congress Working Committee meeting banner that is widely circulated with an edited title on all social media platforms making a mockery of the party.
What is the truth ?
When we used Google reverse image tool to ascertain the authenticity of the viral image, we found the picture shared by ANI the news agency on its Twitter page on 6 August 2019 and the website of ZEE News on August 10, 2019.
When we see the original pictures shared by Zee News and ANI, one thing is very clear about the text on the banner behind the chairpersons only read “भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस” Indian National Congress”. Thus, we can see that the old picture carries the sentence ‘Chor Group Meeting’ is added to it by using editing tools.

During the event, Congress Working Committee unanimously rejected Rahul Gandhi’s offer to resign as the party president. They further added that they need his guidance in these challenging times.
The CWC meeting, chaired by Rahul Gandhi, was attended by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Manmohan Singh, chief ministers of party-ruled states and other top leaders.
Therefore, through our intense research, we found theimage is morphed, and the original image was captured at Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in 2019.
