What’s the truth?

When we started our analysis with the keyframes of the viral video, it led us to a YouTube video dated back to 2019 which shows a communion ceremony.

This video was lengthy with a runtime of 18 minutes and 10 seconds in total. We learned that this is a “First Holy Communion” observed by Catholic Christians after watching the entire film. Here, the girl is shown dressed up wearing a long white dress. Numerous family members also appear to visit her. She is photographed with her mother and father. After that, they all head to church together after meeting up with some relatives in a car. In the church, we see a large number of children dressed similarly to the girl. After the ceremony, everyone takes pictures outside the church because taking pictures inside is prohibited during communion.

Contrary to what went viral, the entire video showed nothing about marriage.

Thus, they took a segment of the entire video—from the timestamp of 2 minutes and 2 seconds to 2 minutes and 57 seconds—and used false narratives to make it go viral.

What is Communion?

When searching for ‘First Communion’, we found that it is a religious ceremony performed in church by Catholic community people when the child reaches the age of around 7-8 years. It is also a time for families to come together and celebrate their divine communion with god. First Communion is said to be most common in the Catholic church.

According to the communion, Family, Godparents, and friends of the family are invited to celebrate with them, as well as the weekly church-going community. The kids will be dressed up, with the boys wearing a suit or suit jacket and the girls wearing a lovely white dress and veil. The length of the Mass will usually be one hour, but it can occasionally go up to ninety minutes. Prayers, hymns, readings, farewell prayers, and the actual Communion will all be included.

All this confirms that the above video shows a communion ceremony celebrated by a family. A similar ‘first communion’ video went earlier with similar claim and Youturn factchecked and published an article on the same.
