Many news outlets have reported on the alleged incident and some reports suggest that a fan tried to take a selfie with Ranbir Kapoor, but he couldn’t get the picture that he wanted and kept retrying. It is being reported that the actor who was smiling and posing for the photo initially got annoyed and threw the fan’s phone.

Some news outlets such as the Economic Times and the right-wing propaganda website OpIndia have cited an earlier incident of reportedly Ranbir Kapoor pushing a fan who was trying to take a selfie with him.

News outlets such as NDTV, Times Now, Free Press Journal, Economic Times etc have also reported that Ranbir Kapoor threw a fan’s phone.
What’s the truth ?
The viral video is actually part of a viral marketing campaign (gimmick) by the popular smartphone maker, OPPO. Reno 8T The smartphone maker’s new model from the company which is slated to be launched on 3rd February 2023 and to create hype for the event, the smartphone maker had indulged in a publicity stunt with its brand ambassador Ranbir Kapoor.

Although some social media users guessed that it could be for an ad, several news outlets and social media users fell for it and believed that the Brahmastra actor indeed threw a fan’s phone.
