The video is lengthy with the caption “Massive #Elections2024 campaign rally in Coimbatore with @RahulGandhi #Vote4INDIA” and was posted on April 13, 2024.

In the video, Rahul Gandhi speaks for more than 35 minutes. DMK’s Trichy Siva has translated his speech into Tamil

When we heard the whole video around the timestamp of 46 minutes we can hear the viral claim segment. Here we can hear him saying about Modi, “You come here and tell the Tamil Nadu people that you like dosa and then insult them, and then you attack their culture, their history, and their language.”

Then he continues to add that “at the same time you said you like dosa and Tamil farmers are starving, Tamil youth are unemployed, you destroy small and medium industry by carrying out demonetization and a flawed GST and for the first time in Indian history farmer’s are paying tax.”

Lastly, Rahul says, “Modi ji you might like dosa, you might like vada also, but that is not the issue here. Nobody cares that you like dosa or vada. We care whether you like the Tamil language. We care whether you respect Tamil history. And we care for what you were doing for the future of this country and Tamil Nadu.”

Then Rahul went on to talk about the electoral scam and his relationship with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.

From the above details, it’s clear that the viral claim video is an edited clip circulated with false narratives mocking Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Conclusion:

A video circulating of Rahul Gandhi talking about dosa is being modified and misrepresented. In reality, Rahul Gandhi was mocking Modi for saying that he liked Tamil Nadu and then going back to Delhi and working against the country’s diversity.
