False claims made against BJP and Vipul Dubey in social media.

A video is being shared in social media with claims that a BJP MLA Vipul Dubey beat up his employee (servant) for asking to pay his salary. The video was spread by Vinod Pandey, the Prayagraj District President for Adhikar Sena (according to his twitter info), with this claim. The tweet received more than 500 retweets and 42,000 views.
What’s the truth?
When we searched with some keywords, we found out that Vipul Dubey is not a BJP MLA from Jaunpur. Girish Chandra Yadav is the MLA of Jaunpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Election Commission of India’s website.
Vipul Dubey is an MLA from “Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal” party (NISHAD) party from Gyanpur.
Upon further search, we came across a reply from Jaunpur Police which said that the incident is not from Jaunpur with a request to not share incorrect information, along with a photo of another tweet from Shahjahanpur Police, which was posted on April 2022.

Taking a cue from this, we found the tweet from Shahjahanpur Police with a video byte from Sanjay Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, who said that the accused was Prathik Tiwari. It was reported in news outlets as well.

The Samajwadi Party’s official twitter handle tweeted the video with similar claims back in April 2022.

When we did some more search, we found that the same video was shared by Jitendra Verma Jeetu (Patel) on 15 April 2022 (last year) with a claim that the person being beaten is Shubham Gupta. According to his post, Shubham Gupta died due to the assault of Raja Dwivedi, the brother of Purshottam Naresh Trivedi in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh which was debunked back then.

The same video was shared in August 2022 with another claim that a BJP leader beat up a young man from Madhya Pradesh.
Conclusion
A old video is shared with false claims that Vipul Dubey of BJP MLA of Jaunpur beat up his employee (domestic servant) asking for his salary. Vipul Dubey is an MLA from the NISHAD party representing Gyanpur constituency. The video is from April 2022 and the accused is Pratik Tiwari.
