An old video of a Congress’ Freedom March is shown as Bharat Jodo Yatra video.

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was launched on 7th September 2022 and the walk to Kashmir from Kanyakumari began on 8th September 2022. Ever since the Yatra began, various fake news have been spread against the Yatra and also sometimes in favour of the Yatra. A Facebook user named Azad has posted a video of a large number of people walking together with the national flag and this video is being claimed to be taken during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

What’s the truth?

We took the key frames of the video and reverse searched the image. We found that the video is actually from Bengaluru when Karnataka Congress organized a “Freedom March” to celebrate India’s 75th Independence.

Several news articles were published about the march which had similar images and videos taken from the same vantage point.

Moreover, the viral video was shared on 9th September 2022 during which the Bharat Jodo Yatra had not even crossed Tamil Nadu to enter Kerala. But the supposed video shown as the Bharat Jodo Yatra has been taken in Karnataka.

In our fact-check, we find that the video shared by some supporters of the Congress party that it was taken during the Bharat Jodo Yatra is false. It was taken in Bengaluru in a “Freedom March” which was also organized by the Congress party.
