The old news is being spread as a case against the Hindus in collaboration with a Muslim association by the DMK government!

Claim

*Court verdict for Hindu temple!* There are many Muslims in Kalathur village in the Perambalur district. It is against Islam for Hindus to worship idols there, so Islamic organizations led by Stalin and partnering organizations and Muslim Minister Mastan & Nasser requested the court to ban it!

But High Court questioned *what will be your situation if Hindus think like this, and the case has been dismissed!* But the news channels in Tamil Nadu have become front-line workers and have not published the news without giving importance to this! The media of the neighbouring state have reported this due to media ethics!

Explanation

“Muslim organizations under the leadership of M. K. Stalin, Ministers Mastan and Nasser requested the court to prohibit Hindus from worshipping idols in Kalathur village in Perambalur district, and the High Court judge dismissed the case asking what will happen to Muslims if Hindus think like this. And even other state media has reported it”, claims a forward message and a Malayalam news video which are going viral on social media.

What is the Truth?

When searching for the viral Malayalam news video from Karma News, it was posted on YouTube on May 10, 2021. It was on May 7 that M.K.Stalin and the ministers took oath as the Chief Minister and Ministers of Tamil Nadu. Apart from that, this Malayalam news did not mention any names of M.K.Stalin and ministers.

When searching for news about the Madras High Court’s order in the Kalathur village temple case, on May 8th, Tamil media published news about it.

V. Kalathur village in Veppanthattai taluk of Perambalur district is inhabited by Muslims in the east and Hindus in the west. In 2018, a single judge of the Madras High Court granted permission for the processions to be held only on the main road in a case filed by Ramasamy Udayar against Sunnath Wal Jamaat seeking permission to organise the festival in the four temples there.

In the judgment issued on April 30, 2021, the bench comprising Justices Krupakaran and Velmurugan, which heard the appeal filed by both parties against this order, said that processions can only be regulated on all roads and streets in villages and towns during temple festivals, and the police can take action on those who cause any law and order problem. They had issued an order to allow the processions to take place on all roads.

Also, if religious intolerance is allowed, it is not good for the secularism of the country, all sections have the fundamental right to conduct religious processions without hurting the sentiments of people of other religions, all processions including temple processions should be allowed on all roads and streets, it is not possible to ban the processions of other religions just because there is a place of worship of one religious section. All cases against both parties are ordered to be withdrawn.

The forward message which is currently going viral has started circulating on social media along with a Malayalam news video a month after the Madras High Court order was issued last year. In the post published last year, the names of Chief Minister Stalin and ministers are included and are being wrongly circulated.

Conclusion

The claim, “There are many Muslims in Kalathur village in Perambalur district. It is against Islam for Hindus to worship idols there, so Islamic organizations led by Stalin and partnering organizations and Muslim Minister Mastan & Nasser requested the court to ban it!” is not true.

In 2018, the Madras High Court judge has given a verdict in a case filed for permission to conduct festival and worship of Hindu temples in Kalathur village. In the subsequent appeal, an order was passed allowing temple festivals and processions on all streets on April 30, 2021. It is known that news about this has been published in the media of Tamil Nadu since last year.
