Fact Check:
Periyar is a 2007 film directed by Gnana Rajasekaran and starring Sathyaraj. Ilayaraja composed the music till Gnana Rajasekaran’s previous film Bharathi. However, he did not compose music for the Periyar film. Also, in 2006, it was claimed to be reported that Ilayaraja had refused to compose music for the Periyar film because Ilayaraja was a theist.
