Is the Muslim person in this image making the Ayodhya Ram Temple idol? No!

The image is old and the man in the image is doing cleaning in the Bangalore-based temple and is not involved in any sculpting.

Explanation

The trust, Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra which was in charge of managing the construction of the temple, revealed on December 19 that three sculptors—Ganesh Bhatt, Arun Yogiraj, and Satyanarayan Pandey—were involved in creating the idols of Lord Ram. They also added, “Out of the three, the idol that brings to life the tenderness of a five-year-old child will be chosen” in the X post.

In this instance, a picture of a Muslim man with a skullcap is circulated, and he is seen placing his hands on the god statue in front of him. This infographic post is shared with a claim stating, “These Sanghis could not find a single sculptor among the 110 crore Hindus… Let’s go to create a Hindu nation…” The post’s Hindi text read as follows when we roughly translated it: “Abdul does not make punctures, now he makes idols of Ramlalla and Sita Mata in Ayodhya.” You can view one similar claim post here.

What’s the truth?

A simple Google reverse image process of the viral image led us to the reports from The New Indian Express and Mensxp.com. Both articles feature the viral image.

According to The New Indian Express article, “Saddam Hussein who has studied only up to Class 2, does odd jobs, helps people in the area with shifting houses, works at a shop and also drives a cab. He is also responsible for keeping the entire temple premises clean and goes about his job with a quiet air of confidence. Saddam does not wait for anyone, enters the temple premises, and starts working. He takes a ladder, climbs up to the roof, dusts and wipes, sweeps and cleans — he does all that alone.

The idols of Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Hanuman located at the top are covered in a layer of dust. Saddam cleans them with complete dedication till they look as good as new.”

At the same time, Hussein was shown in a video that The New Indian Express uploaded on its official YouTube channel titled, “Meet Saddam Hussein who cleans both masjid and mandir in Bengaluru.” According to the description box of the video, “Be it Ramzan or Rama Navami, Saddam is always on call. Saddam cleans the local masjid. He climbs the Minar to clean it. He also goes to the Rama Mandira, where he climbs the Gopura and cleans it and also cleans the temple premises.”

Additionally, we discovered another ANI article from April 2019 with the title “Bengaluru-based Saddam Hussein maintains this Ram temple in a clean and running” that mentioned Saddam’s labor on a temple.

All of the aforementioned data indicates that the image in question is outdated from 2019 and was widely disseminated with false narratives. In addition, the above article states that Saddam has been employed by the Bangalore-based temple for more than three years and is in charge of keeping it clean and not creating any idols.

Conclusion:

As a result, we conclude that the claim that the idols of the Ayodhya Ram Temple were sculpted by a Muslim is untrue. The individual in the picture is not involved in idol sculpture; rather, he is in charge of cleaning the Bangalore temple.
