What’s the truth?
We began our study by searching Google for pertinent keywords and the keyframes from the viral video. This led us to an article by the ABP News dated June 17, 2024. The article carried the viral video and was titled, “Mosque collapsed due to crack in the road in Old Delhi, video goes viral.”
As per the article, in the Old Delhi neighborhood of Chudiwala, a mosque collapsed as a result of road cracks. The information stated that weaknesses in the building caused its evacuation. There are no known casualties from this disaster.
The article went on to add, “According to a police officer, fire officials were informed immediately after cracks appeared in the walls of the mosque. The officer said that two fire engines were pressed into service and the mosque was evacuated. The local police have cordoned off the area. Half an hour later, the front portion of the mosque collapsed.”
However, locals asserted that the mosque didn’t fall apart until the road gave way. The police did, however, declare that they would investigate the mosque collapse incident. According to a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) official, the mosque’s foundation was unstable. The local news of a road collapse has been refuted by the MCD.
All this information clarifies that the mosque collapsed in the viral video was not done by the RSS goons of Hindutva as the viral claim suggests.
