What is the truth?

When searching with relevant keywords we found the official Twitter handle of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee tweeting about the incident related to the viral video on 30, May 2023. The tweet carries a matching visual from the viral video mentioning three minors were assaulted by a mob and as a result a minor Sikh Kirpal Singh (14), was killed at Ukhlad village in Parbhani district of Maharashtra. Two more minor Sikhs, Avtar Singh (16) & Arun Singh (15) have been seriously hurt in this incident.

With further search, News 18 article dated 30, May 2023 is found reporting that the kids were assaulted by a mob who mistook them for goat thieves. The police have registered a case against a total of six individuals involved. Four of the accused have been arrested, including Akram Patel, the former sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat, who is allegedly the main perpetrator in this case, reports said. One of the officials mentioned that eight were booked out of which four were arrested.

The Quint accessed the FIR copy in which it is mentioned that Gora Singh aka Sachin Singh, a relative of the two minors says, “Kirpal Singh was kicked on his stomach and then a person named Akram Patel said ‘hit him with an iron rod on his head’ and he fell unconscious.” he alleges, adding that the attackers then ran away. Kirpal Singh died before reaching the hospital. Gora Singh and Arun Singh are injured and undergoing treatment.

A video tweeted by Parbhani Police on 31, May 2023 is found with the caption “The unfortunate incident of mob lynching of a child of Shikalkari community in Parbhani district is given a caste pattern. Parbhani District Police Department appeals that please don’t believe false rumors on social media, don’t post hateful posts about any religion or community.”

It is found that the Sikh kids were assaulted by a mob who mistook them for goat thieves in Parbhani district. This incident is shared mentioning that jihadis lynched the kids where as it has no relation with the caste or community.
