What is the Truth?

We ran a keyword search and found the full statement reported by many media outlets including Times Now on March 8, 2024, titled ‘Lok Sabha election not like BCCI…’Uddhav Thackrey’s dig at Amit Shah over ‘Parivarvaad’ allegations’

The Times Now article mentioned the full statement of Uddhav Thackrey that he said Speaking to the matter of Aaditya Thackeray being Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray explained that such choices are not comparable to those made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), referencing the fact that Jay Shah, the son of Amit Shah, was named president of the BCCI. Thackeray emphasized that Aaditya will need the people’s support in order to become the Chief Minister.

“Alright, I would like to designate Aaditya as CM, but it would only be possible if you all wanted him to be CM. First of all, appointing him as CM differs from the BCCI, where Amit Shah appointed his son Jay Shah as president,” he remarked.

Additionally, we found MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also tweeted and gave clarification related to an incomplete statement of Uddhav Thackrey, which has been reported and shared by news outlets.

Furthermore, we also searched for Uddhav Thackeray’s full statement video, and we found it in the ShivSena (UBT) official YouTube channel from timestamp 55:19 to 56:20. Uddhav Thackrey replied to Amit Shah’s remark that Shah needs to understand the constitutional process.

Conclusion

The claim that Uddhav Thackrey wants to make his son as the CM is fabricated and falsely shared.
