Also, the BJP supporters are sharing the list of medals on social media saying that India has won a place in the Commonwealth Games under Modi’s rule, which India has not won so far.
What is the truth?
Annamalai’s information that India has secured an unprecedented position in the Commonwealth Games, and that India was at the bottom of the Commonwealth Games medal list so far, is false.
Before this, under the BJP rule, India was in 3rd place with 66 medals in the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Australia and 4th place with 64 medals in the 2014 Games held in Scotland.
Indian athletes who participated in the Commonwealth Games held in India in 2010 during the Congress regime won a total of 101 medals including 38 gold, 27 silver and 36 bronze and took 2nd place in the medal list is a feat till date.
Also, in 2006 India stood at 4th position with 50 medals and in 2002 at 4th position with 69 medals. In the last 20 years since 2002, India has won many medals and has been in the first 4 places in the Commonwealth Games. However, BJP leader Annamalai has given false information that India is at the bottom of the Commonwealth Games.
