This is not only a matter of pride for “Prime Minister Modiji but for the whole country.” This same video was shared with similar claims by many users which can be seen here and here. Come, let’s check the authenticity of this claim.
What’s the truth?
When we started our research, with the keyframes we found the same exact video uploaded on the YouTube page of ANI News on 4 May 2022. The video has a little extended version of 1 minute and 21 seconds with the title, “PM Modi meets Queen of Denmark Margrethe II in Copenhagen.” In the description box of the video, they said “Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 03. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi interacted with the Indian community after delegation-level talks between India and Denmark.”
Moreover, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi also uploaded the pictures on his X account with a message saying, “Met Her Majesty, the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II in Copenhagen.”

The above evidence clearly proves that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met the Queen of Denmark Kingdom, Margrethe II in Copenhagen and not the Queen of United Kingdom.
Another interesting thing is that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not the first and only person to meet the Queen of United Kingdom. Some Prime Ministers of India before the Modi regime and some other leaders have also met the Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom.
We also got our hands on an article published by NDTV with the title, “5 Pics Of Queen Elizabeth’s Meeting With Indian PMs.”According to the article, the list of Prime Ministers met by Queen Elizabeth in London are as follows:
In 1969, the Queen hosted a banquet in London where she was spotted chatting with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In 1983, her visit was in time for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and she famously presented Mother Teresa with an honorary Order of the Merit.
In 2009, she met the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during a reception for world leaders attending the G20 summit at Buckingham Palace.
And finally, Queen Elizabeth met our current Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Buckhingam Palace in 2018.
This perfectly proves that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not the only PM to meet and greet the Queen of United Kingdom.
The Queen has also hosted three Indian Presidents – Dr Radhakrishnan in 1963, R Venkataraman in 1990 and Pratibha Patil in 2009.
However, the video circulated was shot during PM’s visit to Denmark and the woman in the video is the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II in Copenhagen and not Queen Elizabeth of UK.
Conclusion:
Therefore, we conclude that PM Narendra Modi met the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II in Copenhagen which was falsely circulated as the first meeting with Queen Elizabeth of the UK.
