A video of a giant snake wrapped around a van and purportedly squeezing the vehicle is shared widely on Twitter and Facebook mentioning that the snake is attacking its prey. A few posts mention that a family was shocked to see their van being wrapped by a giant snake. Posts with a similar claim can be seen here, here, and here.

What is the truth?
When searching with keywords ‘giant snake’ and ‘van’ we found that the snake is not real but an art installation. An Australian website ‘2ST’ published an article on 18, February 2022 mentioning that the video was initially posted by ‘thegemsfamily’ on Tik Tok with no description. Later, part 2 of the video was posted showing the giant snake closely which reveals that it is fake and possibly inflated.
An Instagram account named ‘Nature Life OK’ posted a video clip of the closer version of the snake on 18, November 2021 mentioning it as an art in a zoo and not a real one. This video shows two eggs installed near the van along with the snake.

The same account has posted several videos on random dates from the same location. A couple of videos shot from a different angle, a prank video showing the snake trying to swallow a person’s head, and another prank video where a person is pretending to be escaping from the van are posted on this page. The video posted on the ‘Bengal News Hindi’ Facebook page is also posted on this page.
The UNILAD article dated 5, February 2022 is found carrying matching visuals from the viral video. This article mentioned the video clip as a prank video.
An article from a Chinese website ET Today published on 25, May 2022 is found carrying matching visuals from the viral video. The article mentioned the filming location as Zhongnan Baicao Garden in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, and clarifies that it is an installation of art.
Conclusion
It is found that the video of a giant snake squeezing a van in the jungle is an installation of art in Zhongnan Baicao Garden in China.
