Explanation

In the debate on the railway subsidy request in the Lok Sabha, the DMK MP has allocated only Rs. 59 crore for the new routes of the Southern Railway in 2022-2023. However, Rs 13,200 crore has been earmarked for new lines on the Northern Railway. Speaking as one nation, you should not discriminate between the North and the South in the allocation of railways.

In this situation, the DMK MP Kanimozhi told a blatant lie in the Parliament premises. Actual allocations: Andhra Pradesh ₹ 7,032 crore, Tamil Nadu ₹ 3,865 crore, Karnataka ₹ 6,091 crore, Kerala ₹ 1,085 crore, ”Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson Surya tweeted.

What is the truth?

At a press conference on February 3, Southern Railway General Manager AK Agarwal announced , “Southern Railway has received an allocation of Rs 7,134.56 crore for the financial year 2022-23 and an additional budget of Rs.1,064.34 crore. Of the total allocation, Rs 1,445.85 crore has been earmarked for duplication projects, Rs.346.80 crore for gauge conversion projects and Rs 59 crore for new lines.

In the financial year 2022-23, only Rs 13,282 crore has been allocated for new routes on the Northern Railway and only Rs 59 crore on the new lines on the Southern Railway. , MP Kanimozhi confimred the same in Lok Sabha.

On February 6, 2022, Madurai MP S. Venkatesh said, “In the last four years, only Rs. 308 crore has been allocated for new routes on the Southern Railway. However, about Rs 31.5 crore has been allocated for new routes on the Northern Railway during the same period, ”the statement said. BJP Surya said the funds were allocated state-wise. 3.865 crore has been allocated for Tamil Nadu in the

budget. This includes 3077 km and 25 new routes already under implementation at a cost of Rs 28,307 crore, including gauge changes and duplication projects.

Conclusion:

Based on our search we affirm that MP Kanimozhi announced that Rs 59 crore has been allocated for new lines of Southern Railway and Rs 13,200 crore for new routes of Northern Railway in 2022-2023. However, it is learned that the BJP’s Surya mentioned Rs 3,865 crore as Kanimozhi’s lie is the total funds allocated for railways in Tamil Nadu in 2022-2023.
