The video of the late DMK leader Karunanidhi falling at the feet of the late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been going viral on social media for the past few days. Youturn followers are being asked us to comment on the authenticity of this video.
AIADMK’s Kovai Sathyan, who took part in a debate on Puthiyathalaimurai News debate show on October 19, has shown a video of Karunanidhi falling at Indira Gandhi’s feet and worshipping.
Prof. Constantine, who was present on behalf of the DMK, denied the allegation that Coimbatore Sathyan had shown the video. Further, when the anchor was asked to provide information on where and when the video was taken, Kovai Sathyan did not provide any information.
In the viral video, Karunanidhi wears an evening gown to an old woman and falls at her feet. In the video which is just 3 seconds long, the height and appearance of the old woman is not like that of Indira Gandhi. She looks shorter than Karunanidhi.
The viral video of Karunanidhi falling at the feet of Indira Gandhi has been shared on social media by members of the DMK denouncing that she is not Indira Gandhi, she is wife of Arignar Anna.
On the Twitter page of DMK4TN posted as, “At the inauguration ceremony of the Anna Arivalayam in Chennai, Kalaignar received blessings from Arignar Anna’s wife, Mrs. Rani Anna; AIADMK liars distort the video as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi!”
According to the DMK, Karunanidhi was blessed by Rani Annadurai, the wife of Arignar Anna, when she attended the inauguration of the Chennai Arivalayam in 1987. Indira Gandhi was assassinated in 1984, just before the inauguration of the temple.
In Vikatan in 2018, published an article regarding that inauguration ceremony, ” Anna Arivalayam was inaugurated on 16-09-1987 and during the inauguration ceremony of Anna Arivalayam, Anna’s wife Raniyamaiyar was present as a special guest. Sonia Gandhi was also present there. ”
In an article published by Vikatan in 2017 from an interview (11-03-87) given by Anna’s wife Rani Annathurai when MGR was the Chief Minister, and a photo of Karunanidhi and Anna’s wife talking has been released on that article.
