Srinagar: Lal Chowk of Kashmir, where hoisting India’s national flag in the past was a distant dream and not safe, is today shining with the image of Prabhu Shri Ram. This is what has changed under the Narendra Modi government and the BJP.
On the 73rd Republic Day, a notable event unfolded in the Lal Chowk area with a flag hoisting ceremony. Remarkably, this marked the first time since India’s independence that the national flag was proudly waved atop the Clock Tower in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, a viral video purports on X (formerly Twitter) that once in Jammu and Kashmir’s Lal Chowk, hoisting a tricolor was a dream, but later it became true under the BJP and Narendra Modi government. Now Jammu and Kashmir Lal Chowk clock tower is shining with Lord Shri Ram laser image.
What is the Truth?
We ran a reverse search using the keyframes of the viral video and found the original video was from the clock tower of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It was reported by ANI on January 18, 2024. The ANI description caption states, “Uttarakhand: Pictures of Lord Ram being projected through laser light on the clock tower in Dehradun city. (17.01)”

We also attached below a comparison of the viral video and Google Maps image of the Dehradun tower clock.
In this comparison image, we can clearly see the exactly similar structure and designs of the Dehradun tower clock.
Dehradun Tourism website also shows the image of clock tower that matches the viral video visuals. According to the Dehradun Tourism website, the tower clock construction started on July 24, 1948, and the foundation stone was laid by Sarojini Naidu. It was inaugurated in 1953 by Lal Bahadur Shastri.
So, according to all these details, we found that the Lord Ram laser picture displayed in Dehradun’s clock tower is not from the Jammu and Kashmir clock tower.

The recent visual of Jammu and Kashmir Lal Chowk’s clock tower is totally different; it’s in tricolour ahead of Republic Day.
The viral video of Lord Ram laser picture illuminating clock tower is not from Jammu and Kashmir’s Lal Chowk; but is from Dehradun.
