An incident in which a man tried to stab Maldivian Environment Minister Ali Solih with a sharp object is being reported in Indian news. Some Maldivian media reported that the man who attacked the minister riding a two-wheeler on the Hulhumale road in the Maldives recited some verses from the Quran, according to WION news.

Muaviath Anwar, a Maldives-based journalist for the Sun website, posted the viral video on Twitter on August 22.
Further search on the news resulted in the website of the Sun Media of the Maldives mentioning, “The person who attacked the minister is mentally challenged, said Gender Ministry.” A few days ago he threatened to kill two night traffic guards. Also, he was once arrested and released for offering prayers in a mosque wearing an outfit bearing the logo of the terrorist organization ISIS.
The people around there have asked to isolate him, but the family is taking care of his treatment, and the ministry has said that neither doctors nor his family have asked him to be isolated.
Conclusion
The man who attacked Environment Minister Ali Solih in the Maldives was not a terrorist. It is known that the Ministry of Maldives has stated that he is mentally ill.
