A video clip is shared widely on social media with the claim that Modi pushed Eknath Shinde aside to be in the camera frame and that he insulted Eknath Shinde by doing such an act. Since Narendra Modi is keen on photographs and likes to be in the camera focus, social media users and opposition party members and pages seem to share this video with mocking captions. What is the truth?
When searching for the full-length video of the event, a video is found on the ‘Narendra Modi’ Youtube channel with the title ‘PM Modi flags off Vande Bharat Express from Nagpur Railway Station’ dated 11, December 2022. When the video is watched carefully, we can see Modi flagging off the train, waving bye, and then turning to Eknath Shinde. At 4.30 minutes, it is clearly seen that Eknatha Shinde moves a step backward a second before Modi holds him.
The same instance can be viewed at 5.15 minutes from the video posted by ’PMO India’ Youtube channel dated 11, December 2022 titled ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off Vande Bharat Express, Nagpur | PMO’.
Conclusion
It is evident from the full-length video that PM Modi did not push Eknath Shinde aside to be in the camera focus but Eknath Shinde stepped back himself as soon as Modi turned towards him. The video clip shared with the claim that Modi insulted Eknath Shinde by pushing him aside to be in the camera frame is not true.
