#Modi goes scuba diving in the Indian Ocean wearing a life jacket – This Chutiya mindless joker can do anything for a photo!
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, recently visited Lakshadweep for a review meeting with dignitaries on various aspects relating to the island, and he also laid the foundation for various projects worth Rs 1,150 crores in India’s smallest union territory, Lakshadweep. Apart from the meeting, PM Modi also shared some pictures from his visit on his official X handle, which later went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, a viral post with PM Modi’s image claimed that Modi went scuba diving in the Indian Ocean while wearing a life jacket. A similar claim was shared by Congress’s National Spokesperson, Supriya Shrinate.
What is the truth?
We ran a reverse image search and found the original picture posted on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official X handle on January 4, 2024, mentioning that he tried snorkelling in Lakshadweep and that it was an exhilarating experience.
In his tweet, he never mentioned that he tried scuba diving. We found a comparison video of a snorkel vest and a life jacket on the YouTube channel ‘Deep Blue Diving – Dive Gear Reviews‘ mentioning that when wearing a snorkel vest, one can notice a bib on the chest and a loop around the neck.
An article on the outsiderview website mentions that life jackets are heavier than snorkel vests due to their design, which makes it harder to float face down on the water’s surface. In contrast, a snorkel vest is small, light, and inflatable, and it allows the person to swim or float with their face underwater.
Modi is seen floating face down in the Lakshadweep visit video posted on the Narendra Modi YouTube channel.
Modi is seen wearing a snorkel vest when he tried snorkeling in Lakshadweep, not a life jacket, as claimed.
