What’s the truth?

We ran a reverse search using the keyframes of the viral video, and we found that at least seven tornado video clips shot from different places were merged as one video and falsely shared as they were all tornado videos from Dallas, US.

  1. The first clip’s original source was found posted on the Tornado Tracker YouTube channel on October 9, 2016, with the title “Hurricane Matthew: Melbourne & Jacksonville, FL”. On video timestamp 4:21, we can see the same visual, and then we find out that video is actually an altered scene from Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
  2. The second clip’s original version was posted on the Good Morning America (GMA) news website on May 2, 2022, with the title ‘More tornadoes overnight after the weekend of destruction in Kansas’, and we find out that this second clip is also old and from Kansas, USA.
  3. The third viral clip is also from Kansas 2022 tornadoes; we found the original video posted on the ViralHog YouTube channel on May 3, 2022, with the title ‘Tornado Rips Through Suburb Houses in Andover, Kansas’.
  4. The original version of the fourth clip was posted on the BBC website on July 21, 2023, and the description states that it is a cell phone footage of a strong tornado in North Carolina tearing off a roof and tossing up debris in the air. The tornado left sixteen people injured, two of them with life-threatening injuries, according to the National Weather Service.
  5. The fifth visual’s original version is posted on the KHOU 11 YouTube channel titled ‘Destructive tornado caught on video in Ohio’ dated March 15, 2024. On the timestamp 0:29 seconds, we can see the same red roof house and a tornado coming towards that home.
  6. The sixth clip’s original version was found posted on CBS News with a title ‘Tornado rips through Arkansas city, damaging buildings and leaving thousands without power’ on March 29, 2020.
  7. The final and last clip from the viral video was originally from the Wray, Colorado, tornado. We find the original video posted on the AccuWeather YouTube channel on May 8, 2016, titled ‘Watch this extreme up-close video of a tornado near Wray, Colorado’.

According to the above-mentioned proofs, we come to a conclusion that the viral video was created by merging several old clips and are unrelated to the recent Dallas tornado in the US.

Conclusion

The video that has been shared as a Dallas tornado is untrue. Multiple old visuals shot at various places are merged together and falsely shared as Dallas tornado.
