A 22-second video claiming that mermaids were spotted below the bridge on the banks of the Kaveri at Srirangapatna near Mysore in Karnataka is going viral on social media.

What is the truth?

Various videos of mermaids roaming around the world are going viral on social media as they are shared without knowing their authenticity.

Taking keyframes from the viral video of a mermaid in the Kaveri river and adding a reverse image search, the YouTube channel JJPD Production posted the complete video on July 17, titled “Terrifying Mermaid caught on video 2022 – Real or myth?”.

Also, in the video’s bio, ”These videos are created by us. All images shown in this are imaginary. CGI design and mermaid created in 3D” is mentioned.

Nicaraguan JJPD Production YouTube channel has released various videos of strange creatures created using CGI technology. Among them, the recently released Mermaid video is being misrepresented as being shot in the Indian state of Karnataka.


The video claiming that a mermaid is seen under a bridge on the Kaveri River at Srirangapatna near Mysore is false. It can be known as a video made in CGI technology.
