 What’s the truth?

The Prayagraj Police has identified the young man as Vaibhav Tripathi and uploaded a video of him in its twitter page. In the video, the man can be seen saying that he was doing Vajrasana (Yoga pose) which many misunderstood to be Namaz posture. Vajrasana is a common form of worship among Hindus during prayers or while doing Yoga. He also points out that some people might have assumed his religious identity as Muslim due to his looks.

Prayagraj Police’s Senior Superintendent of Police also termed the claim of namaz being offered in temple as not true. He also warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading rumours about this.

Conclusion

We find the claim made by several users on social media and supporters of right wing along with the RSS mouth magazine Panchjanya to be false. A Hindu man doing Vajrasana is being wrongly shared as a Muslim man offering Namaz.
