There are a lot of people including students, housewives, and retired employees who are seeking working from home job options. Meanwhile, it is viral on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Linkedin, and WhatsApp mentioning about ‘work from home’ opportunity for Natraj pencil packing jobs offering a sum of 25k to 30k rupees per month.
The posts are viral in languages including Tamil, English, and Hindi and are doing rounds on social media platforms for months. Each post mentioned different contact numbers asking the job-seeking candidates to contact them. Some of such posts can be seen here, here, here, here, and here. And many social media pages are available in the names of ‘Natraj pencil’ and ‘Hindustan pencil’ and are posting such job opening advertisements.
What is the truth?
Some of the contact numbers mentioned in the viral posts seem to be switched off when we tried contacting them.
The verified page of Nataraj Pencils took to Facebook on 4, January 2022 to convey that they do not put job listings on social media. The post is captioned “If you come across any job listings for Nataraj and Apsara, kindly ignore them. We only put our job listings on our website and LinkedIn. @official.apsara and @official.nataraj are our only accounts on Instagram. Please beware of fake postings and report them for fraud”.
The same Facebook account posted an image on 18, January 2022 asking the general public not to fall prey to such fraudulent activities.
The official Youtube page of ‘Hindustan Pencils Pvt Ltd’ posted a video on 25, June 2022 to clarify that job opportunity posts are fake. It is said in the video that the pencil packaging process is completely automated and that no human interference is required.
The description part of the video says “We wish to bring it to your notice that several recent job postings in the name of Nataraj Pencils and Apsara Pencils are fraudulent. Hindustan Pencils Pvt Ltd is not offering work from home packing jobs and has not authorized any person(s) to collect money in the name of the company. We request you to not fall prey to these postings and not share personal or financial details with any unknown/anonymous person(s). We bear no responsibility for the amounts being transferred or credited in response to these fraudulent postings”.
Even after repeated warnings from Hindustan Pencils Pvt Ltd, this post on the pencil packaging job opening keeps doing the round on social media platforms till today.

It is found that the posts on Natraj pencil packaging work-from-home jobs are scams.
