Fake Twitter post claiming that Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem congratulated Neeraj Chopra who won a gold medal !
Pakistani Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem tweeted congratulating Neeraj Chopra who won a gold medal for India in Tokyo Olympics. He also apologised to the Pakistani people for his defeat.
Indian Javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This is the first gold medal in this Olympics for India. It is viral on social media that a Pakistani athlete tweeted congratulating Neeraj Chopra for his victory in Olympics.
What is the Truth?
The viral tweet was from the Twitter account @ArshadNadeemPak. But the tweet was deleted later and the below tweet was posted.
The account seems to have started in May 2021. And, the same tweet has also been posted in a Twitter account @ArshadNofficial, but the post has not been removed since it had only limited shares. This account was started in August 2020.
But these two Twitter accounts in the name of Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem are fake and not his original Twitter account. Abdul Ghaffar from the Sports category of ‘The Dawn’ media has tweeted along with a picture that Arshad Nadeem has confirmed that @Arshadnadeem76 is his original Twitter account.
