Description

While in the series of debates and criticisms over the National Education Policy, the University of Delhi has gone viral on social media with reports that BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, one of the members of the committee that drafted the new National Education Policy, has a fake MBA degree.

Fact check:

When inquired about whether BJP MP Nishikant Dube was on the National Education Policy Committee, we were able to find out that he was not included in the names of those on the committee. The Business Standard report for 2017 revealed the details of 9 members of the National Education Policy Development Committee.

Similarly, the draft National Education Policy released last year includes the names, details and signatures of the committee members. The committee, headed by ISRO scientist K. Kasthurirangan, has finalised the National Education Policy.

It is true that the controversy over the MBA degree of Jharkhand state BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has arisen. On July 28, 2020, The Times of India reported that the ruling JMM had written to the Election Commission seeking an inquiry into the credentials of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey in his election affidavit.

According to Bhattacharya, general secretary of the JMM party, the RTI information obtained by Brijendra Kumar Pandey from Uttar Pradesh, Nishikant Dubey, who is said to have graduated from Dubai University in 1993, did not study under the name Nishikant Dubey.

Conclusion
