In the 25-second viral video, we can see a highway with cars waiting for the road to get cleared since another car is rashly driven in the middle of the road and doing some stunts with people standing through the rooftop and waving a flag. Also, the video displays the writings as ‘A car carrying men waving the Palestinian flag abruptly and dangerously stopping traffic to run “donuts” causing a commotion and fear, distracting drivers and endangering lives.’

This video is shared with the claim stating that this is happening in NewYork after the Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal calls for a ‘day of jihad’ on Friday the 13th, and tells Muslims to ‘take to the streets’ in protest against Israel. Arm yourselves, be prepared for anything. This same post is shared by many X users with similar claims that can be viewed here, here, here, and here. Come, let’s check the authenticity of this viral claim.

What’s the truth?

When we started our research using relevant keywords, it led us to another similar video with a different claim. The X user namely, Tim McNicholas posted the video of the same incident on 11 October and captioned “Just got stuck for several minutes behind someone who decided it was time to do some donuts on the Cross Bronx Expressway near Throgs Neck.” This proves that this video is posted with false narratives in the viral post.

Also, he clarified today 13 October on his X account, after the post went viral with some irrelevant and false claims. In the post, he said that, “I have been informed people are sharing this saying this happened on the Long Island Expressway and that’s a Palestinian flag they’re waving. It’s not the LIE, and it’s not a Palestinian flag.”

He also, added the screenshot portion of the video for further reference in his next X post today.

This clarifies that, the video is circulated with false and misleading claims amidst the ongoing war between the Israel and Hamas.

When we advanced our search another X user has also pointed out and shared the close shot of the viral video today showing the Puerto Rico’s flag which was falsely claimed as Palestinian flag.

All the above evidence clearly proves that, it’s not LIE road nor the Palestine flag as claimed in the video. The video is spread with false claims amidst the war tensions between Palestine and Israel.

Conclusion:

Therefore, we conclude that the video is showing some persons going crazy with a car in the middle of the road on the Cross Bronx Expressway near Throgs Neck. The person who posted the original video has clarified today that, “it’s neither the LIE(Long Island Expressway) and nor it’s a Palestinian flag.” In reality, the flag held by the person belongs to Puerto Rico.
