Explanation

There are two videos attached to the shared post. In the first film, numerous steel boxes with numbers on them are seen for one minute and thirty-three seconds. According to a woman, these are the boxes—which are meant to be extremely safe—where the NTA stores exam papers, but they’re currently lying exposed with no roof over them. After putting in a lot of effort for these tests, many students are surprised by how the NTA retains their papers. Until the very end of the video, we were unable to see the woman’s face as she was conveying this message.

In the second video, which lasted four minutes and sixteen seconds, the same woman showed us an identical set of steel boxes. She demonstrates the boxes here, indicating the city codes and the type of answer sheet that is inside. A package had the words “Pink OMR sheet unused text booklet” inscribed on it. She continues by questioning why these crates are stored outside when there is a tent close by and asking what would happen if it started to rain. Subsequently, she exhibits a few boxes bearing the city name “Patna.” She further shows that the steel boxes have no lock and that the “confidential tape” is torn. We were able to notice that the exam was called “CUET UG” and that it was held on May 15, 2024, in one of those boxes. She proceeds to display several boxes bearing the names of numerous cities that are left unlocked.

This post is shared with a claim stating, “When ABP News journalist @Ajatikaa investigated the NTA office, she saw an amazing scam. What’s the truth?

We began our study by looking up pertinent keywords and the viral video’s keyframes. The National Testing Agency tweeted about this issue on June 27, 2024. A one-and-a-half-minute video featuring those similar steel boxes being shown to us one by one by someone has been presented. Here, they open the boxes to reveal that the trunks are empty. A woman and a man could be heard telling us that since the containers were empty, there were no test papers inside.

The X post is captioned “These are empty boxes kept outside the hall at NTA and do not have any sensitive material inside them. Never did we keep these boxes in open, as reported by the media. Also, we have a sufficient number of security personnel deployed at the place where boxes are kept.”

Thus, the National Testing Agency states in this tweet that the boxes depicted in the widely shared video, which raises concerns about the security of the exam papers filled out by the students inside the steel boxes, are incorrect.

Conclusion:

Thus, we conclude that the ABP news journalist’s viral claim stating that CUET-UG answer sheets are lying in the open, and the packages are not sealed is false and misleading.

In reality, NTA has responded by posting a video on their X account and refuted such rumors stating that those boxes are actually empty and there is nothing inside.
