Old Lebanese video is falsely shared as Muslims in Gaza attempting to breach the border wall and enter Egypt!

Egypt, a predominantly Muslim nation, erected a 36-foot-tall fence to restrict the entry of individuals from Gaza who share the same religious faith. Presently, residents of Gaza, predominantly Muslims, are attempting to breach the imposing barrier to enter Egypt. This scenario highlights the biggest hypocrisy within the Muslim world. While enforcing stringent measures to prevent the entry of Muslim refugees into their own territory, these Muslim countries expect a more welcoming reception in non-Muslim nations, WTH!

A video titled ‘Lebanon on the border of Palestine’ was uploaded on the Twitter page ‘hargeisawi’ on May 16, 2021. A man wearing a white T-shirt is seen carrying a Palestinian flag and scaling the wall.

Similarly, on May 17, 2021, a similar video was found on the “CNN Arabic” YouTube page. The description says, “Lebanese demonstrators, upset about the state of Gaza, climbed a 25-foot-high concrete wall and placed Palestinian flags.”

Gaza was attacked by Israel in May 2021. Lebanon saw protests in response to Israel’s action. They scaled the wall separating Israel and Lebanon at that time. The news has also been posted in this regard on the “Arab News” website. The Reuters website also features photos shot during the demonstration.

An image from this protest is being circulated to falsely link it to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

We have found that the image purporting to show Gazans entering Egypt over the border wall is not real. In fact, it was taken on the border between Lebanon and Israel during the Lebanese people’s protests in May 2021 against Israel’s attack on Gaza.
